The Federal Investment Council (CFI) is an interstate public agency founded on August 29, 1959 under an agreement between the Argentine provinces, the then Municipality of the City of Buenos Aires and the then National Territory of Tierra del Fuego.
Since then, it has worked to support the development of each region of the country.
As a development agency for the Argentine provinces, we have more than 65 years of experience in investment planning, program design and project execution for federal development.
With this objective, we create technical and financial tools to drive projects from end to end, always seeking to enhance their impact.
We work collaboratively with provincial governments at every stage of projects: from diagnosis and planning to execution and evaluation.
We are an agency oriented towards offering innovative solutions, accompanying development processes with a view to the future.
The CFI is led by the Assembly, the highest body composed of representatives from each of the signatory states.
The strategic and political orientation of the organization is defined by the Governors of the Argentine provinces.
The Permanent Board is the executive body and the General Secretariat, currently led by Lic. Ignacio Lamothe, is responsible for the technical and administrative management of the organization.

To promote the comprehensive development of the country by improving people's quality of life. We do this through research, advisory services and investment planning that prioritize the equitable use of resources.
To be a reference in innovation and investment planning, working together with the provinces to promote federal development and permanent training of provincial administrations.
The 2025 Agenda is our medium-term action plan built together with the provinces. It is a working tool that brings together visions of the future and allows us to define priorities to better respond to the needs of each region.
On August 14, 1958, the First National Conference of Governors held in the city of Buenos Aires decided to promote the creation of the CFI.
One year later, on August 29, 1959, the Finance Ministers of all the provinces, the then Municipality of the City of Buenos Aires and the then Government of Tierra del Fuego, meeting in Santa Fe, signed the federal agreement that approved our Charter of Constitution with the objective of promoting the comprehensive development of the country and directing investments towards all sectors of the national territory.
