The Federal Investment Council (CFI) is an interstate public agency founded on August 29, 1959 under an agreement between the Argentine provinces, the Municipality of the City of Buenos Aires and the then National Territory of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands
As a strategic partner of the provinces, we develop technical-financial tools to provide projects with end- to -end support and strengthen their potential.
To that end, we work collaboratively with the provincial administrations ion research, training, financing and infrastructure projects for innovative federal development.
We provide forward-looking solutions adding value throughout all stages of innovation processes.

The Federal Investment Council is led by the Assembly, a governing body composed of the ministers or equivalent officials representing each of the signatory states. Moreover, the strategic and political guidelines of the organization are set by the Governors. The Standing Board is the executive body of the Council and the General Secretariat is in charge of the organization’s technical and administrative management. Currently, the General Secretariat is headed by Lic. Ignacio Lamothe.

To promote the comprehensive development of the country by improving the quality of life of its inhabitants through ongoing research, coordination and advice to ensure an adequate investment policy and a better use of economic resources in each region, maintaining a firm commitment to participatory, inclusive and sustainable guidelines.
To serve as an organization of excellence in innovation and investment planning for federal development, acting as a strategic partner for provinces, not only for the provision of studies and services, but also as a promoter of exportable production with added value. At the same time, to position itself as a reference in terms of the comprehensiveness of its processes and as a permanent trainer for provincial administrations.
Together with the Argentine provinces, we set up roundtables
where we shared visions and opinions, and, as a result, we built a
working agenda to meet the needs of each province.

On August 14, 1958, the First National Conference of Governors held in the city of Buenos Aires decided to promote the creation of the CFI.
A year later, on August 29, 1959, the Ministers of Finance of all the provinces, the City of Buenos Aires and the then Governorate of Tierra del Fuego, gathered in Santa Fe and signed the federal agreement that approved our Charter with the objective of fostering the comprehensive development of the country and directing investments towards all sectors of the national territory.
