DIPLOMA PROGRAM IN URBAN AND TERRITORIAL PLANNING
Argentina is one of the most urbanized countries in the world: 92% of its population lives in cities. This phenomenon poses major challenges for provincial and local governments, including unequal access to land, a housing crisis, pressure on infrastructure, shortcomings in basic services, and increased exposure to the impacts of climate change. At the same time, management and planning capabilities show marked regional disparities, which constrain the ability to develop sustainable and inclusive urban policies.
The Diploma Program in Urban and Territorial Planning is aimed at strengthening the technical and institutional capabilities of local governments to design and implement urban policies that promote balanced territorial development.
- Understand contemporary urban transformations and the territorial challenges faced by Argentine cities.
- Incorporate urban planning, management, and financing instruments from a comprehensive and sustainable perspective.
- Develop capabilities to design concrete territorial interventions in key areas: housing, environment, infrastructure, services, and mobility.
- Promover la innovación institucional y la articulación entre distintos niveles de gobierno.
- Promote institutional innovation and coordination among different levels of government. Consolidate a federal network of public officials engaged in urban development management and planning.
In addition, applicants must hold a higher education degree (university or non-university course of study with a minimum duration of four years) and have experience in urban management or planning.
