Training Program in cultural industries and new technologies

The cultural industries training program is a space where the intersection between these sectors and new technologies is addressed. The goal is to provide theoretical and practical tools to move towards the sustainable growth of cultural activities.

Cultural and creative industries are defined by UNESCO as activities whose main objective is the production, reproduction, promotion, distribution or commercialization of goods, services and activities of a cultural, artistic or heritage-related nature. In 2022 they represented 1.8% of the total economy of our country and created almost 297,000 jobs, according to the Cultural Information System of the Argentine Ministry of Culture.

Through this CFI Program, participants receive training in cultural industries and innovation in order to promote development through the formulation of public policies and the management of projects whose goal is to provide local responses to new challenges and opportunities in the sector.

To provide tools for the implementation of development policies in the field of cultural industries with an expanded vision in relation to the opportunities provided by new technologies.
For this purpose, it is key to promote collaborative relationship and network building among people whose work is to manage public policies for these sectors in order to launch joint projects and expand job markets in relation to cultural industries.

The first module features masterclasses where professionals and experts discuss a topic that links cultural industries with new technologies and present a case analysis.

The second module consists in an in-person federal meeting where participants review the topics presented at the masterclasses with the aim of identifying opportunities for their fields of work and visit relevant public and private undertakings in the cultural sector.

The third module is virtual and consists in preparing a project that involves a new technological tool in the field of cultural industries.

Finally, the fourth module consists in presenting before provincial authorities the projects worked on throughout the course.

Provincial civil servants who manage public policies in the areas of cultural and creative industries or related activities.

Two (2) participants per province are selected. The proposal is submitted to the CFI by the provincial representatives or by the persons designated for this task.

The training is developed in a mixed modality, with virtual and face-to-face courses.

Participants are required to carry out a practical exercise in teams, which serves as the course evaluation. The work, which integrates theory and practice, requires the participants to apply concepts and tools provided during the training, management and communication modules. This type of formative evaluation assesses the entire teaching-learning process and was designed to ensure that participants absorb the contents taught in class and articulate them to solve a challenge related to a cultural industry and apply a technological tool.

To pass, the participants must have more than 75% attendance to the total of the Program components and have successfully presented the Final Project.
