Ignacio Lamothe, General Secretary of the CFI, together with the Governor of Jujuy, Carlos Sadir, and the Vice-Governor of Catamarca, Rubén Dusso, opened the Federal Logistics Summit, where they stressed the importance of thinking about and planning for Argentina's highly complex challenges over the long term.

Gustavo Idígoras, President of the Argentine Oilseed Industry Chamber and the Cereal Exporters Centre (CIARA-CEC); Marcelo Gioffré from Pan American Energy; and Horacio Díaz Hermelo and Juan Iocco from the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) discussed the impact of logistics on different productive activities and the need to move towards a more efficient intermodal logistics system. Rafael Farromeque, logistics specialist at CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean; Juan Pablo Martínez, Head of Rail Transport at AC&A; and Ricardo Sánchez, economist specializing in maritime transport, explained how multi-connectivity and an integrated approach are central to developing an efficient logistics system. The Governor of Jujuy, Carlos Sadir; the Governor of Chaco, Leandro Zdero; and the General Secretary of the CFI, Ignacio Lamothe, closed the first day of the Federal Logistics Summit with an overview of Argentina's potential for integration with the world.

The Governor of San Luis, Claudio Poggi; the Governor of Buenos Aires Province, Axel Kicillof; and the General Secretary of the CFI, Ignacio Lamothe, shared their perspectives on the role of logistics in a development model for Argentina.

Maximiliano Pozaric, Cargo Manager at Aerolíneas Argentinas, and Gabriel Díaz Zolorzalo, Government Relations Manager, Commerce, at Mercado Libre, spoke about the importance of an efficient freight system, the role of e-commerce and different strategies for reducing logistics costs. Moderator: Teresa Oyhamburu, Director of Programmes at the CFI.

Romain Zivy, from ECLAC; Aiga Stokenberga, transport economist and researcher at the World Bank; and Carolina Rueda, Director of Regional Integration at CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, presented the work of multilateral organizations in developing logistics projects. Moderator: Ángeles Arano, Head of International Relations at the CFI.

The Governor of Chubut, Ignacio Torres; the Governor of Entre Ríos, Rogelio Frigerio; and the Governor of Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora, joined the General Secretary of the CFI, Ignacio Lamothe, in a panel on logistics for development, where they addressed the role of logistics in territorial integration and the importance of building competitiveness and adding value to production in Argentina's provinces.
