Logistics planning to support the growth of Vaca Muerta
As part of the Federal Logistics Strategy, the CFI worked with the provinces of Neuquén and Río Negro on a comprehensive study of the hydrocarbon supply chain in Vaca Muerta. The report analyzes the flow of essential inputs such as frac sand and steel pipe, and assesses the priority road works, rail improvements, and multimodal alternatives needed to prevent bottlenecks as production is projected to increase through 2029. Building on this technical foundation, the document sets out specific guidelines on infrastructure, traffic management, and transport service coordination to optimize operating costs and ensure the sustainability of regional energy development.
