Towards a federal strategy for incorporating artificial intelligence into productive sectors
The CFI brought together national and international experts, along with representatives from public, private, and academic institutions, to discuss Argentina’s opportunities, challenges, and priorities for effectively incorporating artificial intelligence into its productive sectors.
The meeting was part of a broader project aimed at designing a roadmap to promote federal development through strategic coordination in key areas such as logistics, water resources, productive financing, education, and innovation.
Artificial intelligence is becoming a key tool to drive productive innovation. Argentina has significant potential to advance in this area thanks to its strong base of specialized talent and existing capacities in strategic sectors. The challenge lies in improving data quality and accessibility, as well as strengthening the available technological infrastructure.
This meeting marked an initial step toward consolidating a formal space where provincial administrations can share experiences and advance in the development of public policies related to AI.
Among the proposals discussed to strengthen the sector, the need to build and consolidate a national artificial intelligence ecosystem was highlighted—one that connects public, private, and academic stakeholders within a comprehensive federal strategy. The creation of specific financing mechanisms for AI-based ventures was also emphasized.
Additionally, participants underscored the importance of establishing clear and balanced regulatory frameworks regarding data access, use, and ownership, and promoting the responsible use of AI across all levels of government.
Another key focus is technical and professional training. This requires educational programs adapted to the needs of the productive sector, which also foster talent attraction and retention in the provinces.
Finally, the importance of strengthening the country’s basic digital infrastructure was emphasized, through investments in connectivity and the effective interoperability of public and private systems under shared governance schemes.
