From June 4 to 6, the City of Mendoza hosted the Federal Meeting on Cultural and Creative Industries (EFICC), jointly organized by the Government of the Province of Mendoza and the Federal Investment Council (CFI).

For the first time, the meeting brought together delegations from every Argentine province, along with ministers of production and culture, representatives of multilateral organizations such as UNESCO and CAF, and national and international experts. The aim was to consolidate a strategic roadmap for the country's creative sectors.

The initiative is part of the development of the Roadmap toward a Federal Future for the Development of Cultural and Creative Industries. This is a planning process that the CFI is carrying out with the provinces to design public policies that improve access to financing, encourage innovation and strengthen the competitiveness of Argentine cultural production.

The opening day was led by the Governor of Mendoza, Alfredo Cornejo, and the Secretary General of the CFI, Ignacio Lamothe. Its highlight was the signing of an agreement between Mendoza, San Juan, San Luis and the CFI to create the "Cuyo Cultura" Regional Agency, an institute that will coordinate and boost cultural policies across the Cuyo region. The Governor of San Luis, Claudio Poggi, and the Governor of Santiago del Estero, Elías Suárez, also attended the ceremony, along with ministers of production and culture from across the country.

The EFICC opened with an international panel, where experts from Chile, Brazil, UNESCO and CAF presented models for planning and financing the creative economy. From there, the meeting moved on to its technical core: the presentation and provincial review of the Federal Assessment of Cultural and Creative Industries. The assessment was developed with the provincial culture secretariats and covers ten key sectors: Crafts, Visual Arts, Dance, Design, Audiovisual, Theater, Video Games, Gastronomy, Publishing and Music.

The second day was devoted to forward-looking sector workshops, where provincial delegations worked on setting priorities and building shared work agendas.

The program was rounded out with panels on cultural venue management, major festivals, heritage, and regional experiences in design, gastronomy, audiovisual and music.
