Fourth Federal Beekeeping Meeting Held in Tucumán, Focusing on Youth Innovation and Value Addition

With strong participation from producers, technical teams, and subnational authorities, the Fourth Federal Beekeeping Meeting, organized by the CFI and the provincial government, concluded in Tucumán. The event focused on promoting sustainable beekeeping, with an emphasis on the participation of younger generations, technology adoption, value addition, and access to financing.
Over two days in Yerba Buena, the agenda included technical conferences, business rounds, and a new session of the National Beekeeping Council. These various events provided an opportunity to exchange experiences on honey marketing, pollination services, and strategies to improve the sector’s competitiveness.
In this context, the Beekeeping Sector Promotion Program was presented as an initiative jointly developed by the CFI and the provinces. The program includes technical assistance, business development support, and credit lines for the purchase of beehives, equipment, technology, and infrastructure.
The event also addressed key tools for strengthening the positioning of Argentine production in international markets, including honey characterization and differentiation, traceability, and efforts to combat food fraud. The meeting also featured presentations on provincial beekeeping development plans and training sessions aimed at consolidating a more integrated, technologically advanced, and inclusive federal system.
